Non-profit is the best

I love non=profits because they are generally not as tightly wound as nJulie’s helps poor women who have not had the best of luck. They also help their children.

The first assignment I got from Julie’s was to design and produce all of the materials for their annual dinner. Since they have a school with lots of little kids and they use a butterfly as their symbol, I designed a graphic theme that incorporated childrens handprints into the butterfly. They liked it so much we incorporated it into all of the materials. Posters, booklets, contributor mailings etc.

After their event we did a couple of small fundraising packages. They are not that different from the usual mailings that are done but their results were dramatically better.

I had my eye on their logo. Not sure who did it but was confident there was room for improvement. Here’s the before and after:

After the logo design which they had never  really asked me for I went after the big problem. The web site. Now I had been messing with it for awhile. Adding images here and there, putting up news features. But I got an emergency call one day telling me thatGoDaddy,  their hosting company was going to trash their site because it was coded in cold fusion. I dont know much about coding but do know that CF isn’t even being used anymore.

So we found a place to host the site in its current form and then started designing them a new site. We have a lot to do with the site but it’s up and working.
